Kyiv-Mohyla Alumni Association Supports its Alma Mater
The nucleus of the Kyiv-Mohyla Alumni Association was formed after the first graduating class entered Ukrainian society in 1996, four years after the re-establishment of the University. A community spirit was formed as a result of the small size of the university, its democratic and inclusive environment, a common purpose and values, and the mission of reaching for excellence and forging international contacts. Andriy Dmytrenko is the Director of Equity Sales Department at Dragon Capital, the largest investment company in Ukraine. Prior to Dragon, Andriy held positions as economic analyst at the Government of Ukraine Center for Policy Studies, market researcher at the Kyiv office of KPMG Barents Group, and account executive at the Kyiv office of AC Nielsen. Andriy holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Katherine Hinkulova is one of the youngest producers at the British Broadcasting Company, working in the Ukrainian BBC service. After completing her Bachelor’s degree at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, she completed her MBA at the London School of Economics.
Yaryna Klyuchkovska has a Master's degree from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and Master's degree in Mass Communications at the State University San Jose (USA).
She is the Co-founder and Chairman of he Ukrainian Association of Public Relations (UAPR), and prior to that she worked as head of external relations of UMC, Ukraine’s mobile telephone company, and as PR-Manager at Metro Cash & Carry Ukraine and Director of Customer Service at Romyr & Associates. She also worked the Benjamin Group / BSMG Worldwide (now - Weber Shandwick), a leading PR-agency in Silicon Valley. Since 2001, Ms. Klyuchkovska is on the faculty at Kyiv Mohyla Business School, International Institute of Business CIPR / IIB and Ukrainian Association of Pubic Relations (UAPR).
Ihor Kohut is a political scientist and active as a social activist. He was engaged as head of public coalition campaigns, including the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Monitoring Committee during the 2002 parliamentary elections, the Coalition "New Choice 2004" - during the presidential race, “Conscious Choice" during the parliamentary elections of 2006, and the "Strategy for Modernization" in 2009. Since the year 2000 – he serves as Chairman of the Council for Legislative Initiatives. Since 2001 he is the Chief Editor of journal “PARLIAMENT". Since 2005 he is the Director of the Ukrainian School of Political Studies, an independent, non-partisan project of the Agency for Legislative Initiatives, a Ukrainian “think-tank”
Oksana Markarova graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a degree in Natural Sciences, and Master Program "Ecology". Oksana received her MBA at Indiana University in the U.S.A., specializing in Public Finance and International Trade Policy.
She is the President and CEO of "Invest ATT", a leader in the Ukrainian investment market and asset management. She worked as consultant of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Committee on Legal and Judicial Reform and as associate researcher at the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (International Foundation for Election Systems).
Oleksiy Pavlenko graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Department of Economics in 1998. He completed his MBA at the School of Business of the University of Nyenrode, Netherlands in 2002.
Oleksiy is a partner in the Investment Company Pharus, where he is responsible for investment, consulting, merger and acquisition activity in Ukraine. In 2006-2009 – he was engaged as CEO of Concern Foxtrot, responsible for overall management and investment in Ukraine and Moldova. In 2003-2006 he was President and CEO of "Riyse" company, responsible for the overall management and investment in Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Moldova , and in 2002-2003 – he worked at Damen Shipyards Group, Gorinchem, Netherlands as a member of the Audit Committee, and as head of restructuring and business development team in China, Romania, Ukraine and the Netherlands. Mr. Pavlenko considers support of his Alma Mater, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy one of his personal charitable priorities. He is particularly interested in supporting student life and student dormitories.
Rostyslaw Pawlenko is a well known political scientist, analyst and political strategist. He is the leader of one of the most effective and professional teams of analysts. He graduated from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Economics. He then continued his studies at Central European University, where he received master's in Political Science, and is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Since 1996 he worked as an analyst at the Association of Young Ukrainian Political Scientists and Politicians, at the International Institute for Comparative Analysis, he worked at the School of Political Analysis of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy considered one of the nation’s leading analytical centers of social strategies. Mr. Pawlenko worked in the election campaign of Viktor Yushchenko during 2004. In 2005-2008 he was appointed head of Analytical Service of the Presidential Secretariat of Ukraine. He taught courses in comparative constitutional law, political system of Ukraine, and state administration at Kyiv Mohyla Academy. Mr. Pawlenko is the author of more than 400 publications.
Ivan Poltavets known as an expert in economic analysis, he is Senior Analyst at International Center for Policy Studies, Kiev. He worked as economist in numerous non-governmental organizations and corporate think tanks in Kiev, such as the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER), and the Bureau for Economic and Social Technologies (BEST). Ivan also worked as a Director for Economic Studies at Yalta European Strategy (YES).
Ivan holds Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy and Master degree in Economics from Kiev School of Economics.
Natalia Popovych is the President of PRP Group, a Weber Shandwick Affiliate company. She supervises the firm's operations in Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan. PRP is a leading communications consulting and media relations company. Natalia Popovych leads the Committee of International Relations at the Ukrainian Association of Public Relations (UAPR) and is a guest lecturer in the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School.
Natalia graduated with a Master degree in Political Science and Sociology from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and received a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of California in San Jose in the United States.
Dmytro Tarabakin is Co-Founder, Managing Director and Head of Trading and Domestic Sales at Dragon Capital, the largest investment company in Ukraine. Dmytro Tarabakin graduated in 1996 Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a degree in Economics; he completed a one-year Economics and Finance Program at Roosevelt University in Chicago. In 1997-2000, Dmytro worked as a senior stock trader in Kyiv and Warsaw with Wood & Company, the region's leading brokerage house, before teaming up with his Ukrainian and Czech colleagues in 2000 to set up Dragon Capital. Under his leadership, Dragon's brokerage quickly became, and remains today, the leader by trading volumes on the Ukrainian stock market. In 2004 he receved the Person of the "Ukrainian Stock Market" Award from the top national business weekly “Biznes”.
Mr. Tarabakin is a continuous supporter of his Alma Mater. Dragon Capital Company founded the first Endowment Scholarship Fund at NaUKMA in May 2005 for an annual scholarship for a member of faculty of administration. In 2009, Dragon Capital supported the publication of a textbook on Ukraine's stock market and technical equipment. Dmytro Tarabakin joined a team of professionals, who initiated the PFTS UA Exchange, Ukraine’s primary securities exchange - stock trading system.
Iryna Vannikova graduated from National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy in 2001 with a degree in Philosophy. In 2002 she graduated from the Kyiv State University of Performing Arts, with a degree in Film Theory. Since 1995 she worked a news anchor at the leading news program Windows on STB Channel 1 +1. In 2006 she was appointed Press Secretary of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko.
Iryna Kuchma graduated from National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy in 2000 with a Master degree in Cultural Studies. Since 1999 she worked at the International Renaissance Foundation and since 2008 she is Open Access Program Manager at International Consortium EIFL (eIFL.net is an international not-for-profit organization with a base in Europe and a global network of partners (universities, libraries) at 45 countries around the world to enable sustainable access to high quality digital information for people in developing and transition countries.
Olena Maslyukivska are senior lecturer at NaUKMA ecology department. She is researcher in environmental economics, including improving the role of environmental taxation, and consulting on environmentally responsible business.
After NaUKMA she studied in Yale University environmental management (1998-2000) and since 2001 working in NaUKMA. Currently completing a Ph.D. thesis on ecological and labor tax reform in Ukraine.
Dr. Minakov graduated as BA (1996) and MA (1998) in philosophy from UKMA. He defended his Candidate dissertation on "Kant's Teaching on the Faith of Reason" at Skovorody Kyiv Institute of Philosophy in 2001. His Doctoral dissertation (dedicated to the history of a concept of experience in the Western philosophy) was cleared at Skovorody Kyiv Institute of Philosophy in 2007.

Dr. Minakov is an author of 3 books and about 60 articles in philosophy, political analysis, cultural critique and epistemology.
Mykhailo Minakov was successfully combining his academic career with analytical and program jobs at G.Soros Foundation, Eurasia Foundation, V.Pinchuk Foundation, and UNDP in Ukraine.
Iryna Solonenko is Director of European Program of International Renaissance Foundation since 2004.
Iryna Solonenko graduated from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy specialty history and a master's degree at Central European University (Budapest, Hungary) with a degree International Relations and European Studies.
Now Iryna gets Ph.D. at the Academy of Public Administration. Irene is an experienced specialist in the issues of relations between Ukraine and the European Union, Ukraine's European integration initiatives and civil society of Ukraine in European integration.
Ostap Semerak member of Ukraine parliaments, member of the parliamentary faction Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Budget, member of the Council of Inter-Parliamentary Council Ukraine-NATO.
Graduated from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Master of Political Science in 1998 and Lviv State Franko University, Department of Physics. Co-founder and deputy chairman of the Student Fellowship at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Program Coordinator School of the Young Politician “Ukrainian Fund support for reform”. President of Foundation for promoting the political and legal cultures.
Graduated from National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy Bachelor of Economics in1996. She received MBA at SDA BOCCONI, Italy in 2001 and graduated Ukraine Summer University for Democracy of the Schools of Political Studies for the Council of Europe, France in 2007.
Now Kateryna works at Wrigley Ukraine at Mints&Confections department as Marketing Manager. Before that she was a Vice-President for Foreign Cooperation at National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy. After graduation from NaUKMA she worked for PROCTER & GAMBLE in Ukraine, Switzerland, Germany as Assistant Brand Manager, and before that for SAINT-GOBAIN at Milan (Italy) as Product Manager for UK and Eastern Europe.
