The Kyiv Mohyla Foundation of America joins National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy in congratulating all members of the newly appointed government of Ukraine. May wisdom, patience and a deep love for Ukraine and her people guide their decisions during these complex times. Along with the entire Kyiv Mohyla community, we sincerely welcome three new ministers associated with our university: Serhiy Kvit, President of NaUKMA, now the Minister of Education; Pavlo Sheremeta, the founding Dean of the Kyiv Mohyla Business School (kmbs), now the Minister of Economy; and Ostap Semerak, the new Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers, a 1998 NaUKMA graduate of the Political Science program, and most recently, a member of Ukraine’s Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.

Our congratulations and our thanks to all who have agreed to assume responsibility for guiding Ukraine during this difficult period. We will never forget that the unexpected and dramatic events of recent days came with a very steep price – the violent deaths of innocent people, the One Hundred in Heaven – Nebesna Sotnia, and injuries to hundreds more during the courageous days of Maidan. Their sacrifice will forever be remembered and respected. We will honor them by building a vibrant democracy in Ukraine, a country where citizens are treated with dignity, a nation respected by other nations and where autocratic rule must never return.
