Support is Needed to Compete in Washington DC
The team of law students from National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” has again won the Ukrainian National Moot Law Competition Rounds and will represent Ukraine as national champions at the White & Case International Rounds of the2013 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competitionin Washington, DC, on March 31 – April 6, 2013.
The university is unable to provide the team with financial assistance. The Kyiv Mohyla Law School Moot Court Team is seeking support from sponsors, including law firms, lawyers’ organizations, and individuals. As in past years, the Ukrainian-American Bar Association will assist the team of law students in Washington and will make a contribution toward the the trip to the United States, but more funding is needed to meet all the expenses. Kyiv Mohyla School of Law School Hosts Meeting of Ukrainian Association of Legal Clinics
A meeting of the Association of Legal Clinics of Ukraine took place at Kyiv Mohyla School of Law on March 1st. The Association’s members are legal clinics established at Ukraine’s schools of law. Membership in the Association is voluntary.
Kyiv Mohyla School of Law serves many individuals on a pro-bono basis. The Kyiv Mohyla Legal Clinic was established in 2001 to provide students the opportunity to earn legal experience by providing free legal consultations to needy individuals. Participating students are selected on a competitive basis, receive specialized training, and work under the direction of practicing attorneys.

Developing a Positive Image of Ukraine Abroad Through Cultural Diplomacy
A Round Table on "Presentation of Ukraine Abroad ThroughLiterature - A Positive Experience”, will be held on March 22, at the Kyiv Mohyla Tatiana and OmelanAntonovych Library, in collaboration with the Kyiv Mohyla School of Journalism.
Partnering with National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy are the non-governmental organizations “Forum Vydavtsiv”, and ELEKS Software Company from Lviv, Ukraine’s largest IT firm, servicing national and international corporations in software development, outsourcing and information technology consulting.
Oleksandr Popov, Head of Kyiv City Administration, Visits Kyiv Mohyla Academy
Urges Partnership in Renovation of Historical Podil in Kyiv
Alexander Popov, Head of the Kyiv City Administration, visited the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" on February 26. In a meeting with Dr. Serhiy Kvit, president of NaUKMA, and members of the university’s administration, Mr. Popov proposed a partnership for the renovation and recovery of the area of Podil as a tourist attraction and acultural and historiccenter of the capital.
He urged Kyiv Mohyla Academy to become actively involved in the city’s planning and redevelopment of the area. Specifically, he stated that students canbecome part of the effort by bringing their own proposals and designs for reconstruction of Kontraktova Square. Mr. Popov encouraged students to initiateand sponsor culturaland entertainment events,and to join the city’s effort to redevelop and preserve the historic area with its own unique architectural identity, and its own legends and traditions.
