Serhiy Kudelia, Ph.D.

Dr. Kudelia has held the position of Assistant Professor of Political Science at the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at the University of Toronto. At the invitation of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, on March 16 in Toronto, Canada, he presented an analysis on education titled, “A Nation Without Intellectuals. How to Stop the Decline of Higher Education in Ukraine”.

Serhiy Kudelia holds a PhD in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University and M.A. in Political Science from Stanford University, and a B.A. in International Relations from National Ivan Franko University of Lviv.

He is the author of numerous books and journal articles, as well as a frequent commentator and lecturer at international conferences and seminars.   He is co-author of the book “The Strategy of Campaigning - Lessons from Ronald Reagan and Boris Yeltsin”, by Kiron K. Skinner, Serhiy Kudelia, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, and Condoleezza Rice, with a forward by George P. Shultz, published by University of Michigan Press, 2007. Dr. Serhiy Kudela served as Advisor to the Deputy Premier on Humanitarian Affairs, Ivan Vasiunyk.

On March 31, 2010 Dr. Kudelia was hosted by the Russian and Eurasian Studies Program of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University at a presentation titled "Ukraine Changes Course: Where Will the New President Lead the Nation?"

On April 8, 2010 Dr. Kudelia participated in the International Colloquium “The New Agenda of Russian-Ukrainian Relations in the Global Context -  The New Agenda of Russian-Ukrainian Relations? Views from Moscow and Kyiv”, at the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian Studes, University of Toronto, Chaired by Peter Solomon (University of Toronto), with Panelists Serhiy Kudelia (Jacyk Post-Doctoral Fellow, Kyiv-Mohyla Academy), Sergei Plekhanov ( York University), Oleh Havrylyshyn ( University of Toronto).
