Soviet-Era Electronic Secret Archives Presented to Kyiv-Mohyla Academy

The People Have a Right to KnowThe National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy received a digital copy of the historical declassified documents of the Soviet era (1918 to 1991) from the Archives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU – СБУ) at a presentation ceremony which took place on March 18. The transfer of previously secret NKVD-KGB (People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs- Committee for State Security) files is regarded as a remarkable event and illustrates the need for transparency and the search for a shared historical narrative.

Ambassador John Tefft Opens Newly-Renovated American Library Expansion of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Library System

John F. Tefft - Ambassador of the United States to Ukraine, Dr.Serhij Kvit -  President of NaUKMAU.S. Ambassador John F. Tefft participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the re-opening of the newly-renovated American Library at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv on February 18, 2010. The ceremony was hosted by Kyiv-Mohyla Academy President Kvit.

Excerpts of UNIAN Interview with Serhiy Kvit, Rector of Kyiv Mohyla-Academy.The president of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Serhiy Kvit openly opposed the appointment of Dmitry Tabachnik as Minister of Education and Science At the meeting of rectors last week, the university leaders who attended engaged in various declarations of support of the new minister and criticized his predecessor. UNIAN asked the president of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Serhiy Kvit, why his view contrasted with the view of his colleagues, what are the dangers or consequences of the introduction of national admission testing for universities, and whether the Anti-Tabachnik campaign will result in any change.
